What is the Political Courage Test?

Texas Congressional Election 2018 Political Courage Test

Pro-life Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
Life begins at conception
No In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
No In order to balance the budget, do you support reducing defense spending?
I believe we need to quit nibbling around the edges of our tax code. Replace the 70,000 pages of rules and regulation that force most people to seek expensive professional tax help to avoid legal jeopardy with a tax code that; Broadens the tax base Makes it easy to comply with Provides incentives for savings and investment Make it fair and equal to all Pass the "Fair Tax" coupled with the repeal of the 16th amendment or a "Flat Tax" as an alternative
No Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
No Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
Yes Do you support lowering corporate taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
As a pervasive strategy Government spending does not promote economic growth as the limited GDP growth has shown given the monies spent over the last 8 years. Corporations don't pay taxes it that their tax burdens are passed onto their customers in the from of higher prices for the goods and services they provide. The consumer ultimately bares the burden of corporate taxes.
No Do you support requiring states to adopt federal education standards?
Education decisions are the responsibility of the States not the Federal Government.
No Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, thermal)?
No Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
The Federal Government should not be in the business of crony capitalism picking winners and losers. Solyndra Solar is a prime example. Let the Free Market determine the best mixture of energy resources.
No Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
Rigorously enforce the laws and reporting requirements that are currently on the books. We do need to invest more resources in improving our Mental Health capabilities.
Yes Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")?
Yes Do you support the construction of a wall along the Mexican border?
Yes Do you support requiring immigrants who are unlawfully present to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
I lived in Israel and Walls worked at keeping out the terrorists. We are a country of laws and we need to follow the Law which requires illegal aliens to return to their country of origin and make application to enter our country legally. I would only consider a permanent residency work status for DACA as a trade for fully funding the construction of the border wall, an end to chain migration, an end to the visa lottery system and no ability to vote in any election.
No Do you support the legalization of marijuana for recreational purposes?
Yes Should the United States use military force in order to prevent governments hostile to the U.S. from possessing a nuclear weapon?
No Do you support increased American intervention in Middle Eastern conflicts beyond air support?
When a state actor states they intend to incinerate you with nuclear weapons, we must take them at their word. As a last resort when diplomatic efforts have been exhausted, I would support the use of military force to deny a hostile government access to nuclear weapons. Our enemies have a big say in our intervention in Middle Eastern conflicts. As of today he current situation does not require additional ground troops as I understand our mission. Should the situation change and our allies need assistance I would reassess my position.
My first piece of legislation will be ?Term Limits?. The Founders never intended Congress to be a Life-long Career for Politicians I have proposed legislation to provide every Veteran with a Medical Access Card to be used at any healthcare facility they choose. I propose reducing the VA to specialty care for such injuries not normally seen in general healthcare such as PTSD. I have proposed creating a National Cyber Security Center of Excellent to develop the next generation of Cyber Technologies to provide the means to protect and secure our nation and its citizens and businesses from attacks.
